CHURCH MINISTRIES
1 WORD GROUPS:
The Word groups are smaller groups within the church. These groups meet Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. Instructors who have gone through the training classes with Pastor Russ, rotate teaching each week. The Scriptures used are taken from the last Sunday morning service. The teacher not only teaches the class but acts as the moderator for the group. The class is encouraged to ask questions or give a thought concerning the Scripture.

After the Word is taught, the class prays over prayer request that have been given. The night ends with a time of fellowship—enjoying the food that has been provided by various ones within the group.

The last Sunday evening of each month the groups have a combined service in the sanctuary of the church. Pastor conducts a regular service—with praise and worship, preaching the Word, and ministering to needs.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY: The children are valuable to Shield of Faith Ministries; therefore, their ministry is an important part of the church. Their service is designed to minister the Scriptures on a level that is suitable for their age. Props are often used to demonstrate the core message. Also, there are a variety of puppets used in skits to convey the Gospel in an interesting and entertaining way. The children especially love their movie time with Veggie Tales. Through these methods used in teaching, many children have been led to salvation. The children’s ministry is under the leadership of Bobby and Laura Smith. There is a staff of volunteers that have been screened and trained to offer a safe environment for the children.

"People brought babies to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. When the disciples saw it, they shooed them off. Jesus called them back. "Let these children alone. Don't get between them and me. These children are the kingdom's pride and joy. Mark this: Unless you accept God's kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you'll never get in."
(Luke 18:15-17) The Message
1WOMEN IN THE WORD:
Arlene Darby who is an accomplished teacher of the Word of God is the leader of women in the Word. These meetings are specifically to help women learn to apply the Word taught in a practical way, as they deal with the issues of day-to-day life.

If you are a woman who is looking for answers to problems or in need of friendship with other women, you are invited to come and be a part of these special services. Women in the Word meet in the fellowship hall of the church the last Wednesday night of the month at 7:00 p.m.

1MEN IN THE WORD:
The Men’s Ministry meets four times a year on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The ministry is designed to develop productive relationships between Christian men within the church body.
There is a time of Bible Study at the meetings to help men incorporate Biblical principles into their daily lives. After the Word is shared the men enjoy a time of fellowship by sharing a meal together. If you are a man who needs to be encouraged by other Christian men, you are invited to come and spend an evening with these committed men of God.

There are three more meetings scheduled in 2012:
May 5, 2012
August 4, 2012
November 3, 2012
1 WEDNESDAY EVENING FAMILY NIGHT:
Classes are provided for all the age groups within the church each Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Those who are adults meet in the sanctuary. Pastor Richard and Peggy rotate the teaching of this class. They teach as they are led by the Holy Spirit—messages that are relevant for living in this era of time.

At the end of the service, there is a time given for praise reports of answered prayers, and praying over prayer request given. There have been many miraculous answers through the concert prayers of the entire class.

The children and youth meet in their classrooms to hear the Word taught specifically for their age. All classes have teachers who are screened and equipped to teach, giving a safe environment for the children and youth.
